Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Tapped to Aid the World’s Need for Water

The average American consumes over 570 liters of water everyday, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Imagine how much more liters of water the whole world needs now that everyone is getting thirstier by the minute and experts estimate that the global demand for fresh water can reach as much as 640 billion liters a year. It’s not just people affected by this alarming fact. Industries like the agriculture sector, which accounts for 70 percent of water use, and fuel plants consume between 1,000 to 4,000 liters of water just to produce a liter of biofuel. Though some might be advocating the reduction of water consumption, another solution in the form of sea water reverse osmosis treatment can be utilized.
